Whether you’re a seasoned cyclist or a beginner looking for a new challenge, this event is designed for riders of all levels. The Gran Fondo Alberto Contador is named after the legendary Spanish professional cyclist Alberto Contador, who is known for his remarkable achievements in the world of competitive cycling. This event pays tribute to his legacy and provides participants with an opportunity to experience the same exhilaration and sense of accomplishment.

The Gran Fondo will take place in the picturesque location of the Costa Blanca, offering breath-taking scenery and challenging terrain. You’ll have the chance to pedal through stunning landscapes, conquer winding roads, and experience the thrill of cycling alongside fellow enthusiasts.

Blanca Bikes is delighted to offer a comprehensive cycling package tailored specifically for the Gran Fondo Contador in September 2025. Our package provides everything you need for an exceptional cycling experience.

Our package includes 4 nights’ bed and breakfast at our guest house in Javea. The race day is Saturday. We will pick you up from the airport on Thursday and transport you to Javea . The drive is approximately 1hr. Depending on your arrival time, guests have the option to head out for an afternoon ride or head down to the beach for a stroll. Friday is the day to register and pick up your race pack. Please note, you will need to book your place in advance on the official website. Many of our guests also go for a short warm up ride on Friday and test out the Cervelo Bikes. The Friday ride is usually an easy 50-75km ride. Please confirm if you would like to join us on this ride or hire your own guide for the day.

Saturday is race day. We serve breakfast nice and early and then transport you and the bikes to the start village. After the race and pasta party you are then transported back to the guest house in Javea where you are free to shower and head out into the town for the evening.

Sunday is a free day. You can make your own way out, relax or join us for our Sunday warm-down ride. Depending on the group’s requests, this will be anything from 50 -100km . Monday we will transport you back to the hotel for your journey home.

The boutique accommodation hotel is run personally by the Blanca Bikes team and has been designed to offer cyclists a relaxing haven in the heart of the action.

All rooms have been individually designed and only recently fully refurbished, combining a mix of traditional Spanish charm with modern luxury. Whether you’re here for training or a more relaxed cycling holiday, the Blanca boutique cycling accommodation and Javea (Xabia) won’t leave you disappointed. We are located just seconds from the charming historical streets of Javea (Xabia) old town and the San Bartolomé Church. Just meters away, you will find some of the best Tapas restaurants nestled down the idyllic bustling streets, ideal for a vino or beer after a hard day’s cycling around the famous roads of the Costa Blanca.

Airport transfers are provided by Blanca Bikes from either Alicante or Valencia airports. We own our own transport vehicles so can be flexible to your requirements if you notify us in advance of any special requests. After booking, we will give you detailed information about your pickup point at the airport.

We will take care of transporting you and your rented bike to the event venue, so you can focus on the ride ahead. ON THE ROAD:

Roads closed to traffic: Experience the thrill of cycling on roads exclusively reserved for the event, ensuring a safe and enjoyable ride without interference from traffic.

Signposting of the routes: Clear signage along the routes will guide you through the course, ensuring you stay on track and never miss a turn.

Mechanical support at aid stations: Professional mechanics will be stationed at aid stations, ready to assist with any bike repairs or adjustments to keep you rolling smoothly.

Timing service: Your performance matters, and our timing service will accurately track your ride, allowing you to monitor your progress and compare your results with fellow participants.
Broom car: Should you need assistance or decide to conclude your ride, a broom car will be available to transport you and your bike back to the event venue.

HOW TO BOOK

To book your Gran Fondo Alberto Contador Cycling Holiday please contact us by e-mail on info@blancabikes.com telling us the number of riders, any special requirements and general group ability. We will then discuss all options with you, provide a final quote considering any additional options you might need and provide final confirmation. We will require a deposit to secure your booking which we can discuss when everything else is finalised. We just rent two bikes there for two days. They were to be honest not the cheapest, but made the most professional impression. But 1st, the bikes are really not comparable to the ones from competitors as they're much better. And 2nd they delivered with service. From the first contact which was very responsive and nice, over issues that we faced during the rental (flat tire, can happen) they handed us a self repair kit upfront and were always there and assisted us. As they have multiple shops nearby, you could also step in there if you face issues during your ride. Totally recommend them.

There's only so long you can ride the same old wrecked roads in the same grim winter weather, so Blanca Bikes offered a chance to escape Glasgow. Run by a former Scottish racer and staffed with people who know what bike riders are looking for, it's a great set-up in the old part of Javea, close to great food spots. From quality Cervelo bike hire to a big breakfast, an airy room and route advice or guiding, you're not left wanting for anything. I was left wondering why it's taken me so long to get to the Costa Blanca and see how incredibly slow I am compared to Tadej Pogacar on the coll de Rates. Can't be beaten – Blanca bikes, not Pogacar...

Rented three Cervélo road bikes from Blanca Bikes for a cycling trip to Calpe and couldn’t have been happier with the experience. All the bikes were in excellent condition — clearly well maintained and ready to ride straight away. The staff were friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely helpful throughout. Special shout‑out to Richard, who sorted me out with a couple of cleat bolts and made a few tweaks to my bike setup that made a real difference. We also visited their café in Parcent, which is absolutely worth the stop if you’re heading over to the Col de Rates. Great coffee, tasty sandwiches, and loads of outdoor space to relax in before or after the climb. Highly recommended for both bike hire and a great café stop.
